All together

Now we have all the techs in one engine. Now we also can add bump-mapping and unique lighting FX (say, some green light on a wall near the grass). The engine has some optimization potential, but speed is mainly based on a texture quality settings.

It is supposed that all the objects will be in a 1 pixel = 1 centimeter scale.

Test building visualisation

Keys:

  • Spacebar — change daytime
  • Mouse wheel — change scale
  • Shift + wheel — tex quality
  • Ctrl + wheel — lightmap quality
  • Alt + wheel — groung quality
  • Q — tex interpolation on/off

Congratulations guys! It looks extremely good!
Do you use your own rendering engine or PaperVision3D?
If it’s your own one - do you planning make it public?

  2. Alexander Karpovich Says:

Thank you. We use our own engine. It is absolutely optimized for this game. May be it will become public later, because we will have to seriously prepare it for another tasks.

Just a quick note, scroll wheel support doesn’t exist in flash on the mac, so most of the options in the demo aren’t accessible to mac users. I suggest keyboard alternatives?

    Nice work :)

  4. Anton Volkov Says:

Yes, we know that :) this is just a test examples… any functions will have keyboard alternatives, but sorry not now :)

Dudes, I am blown away. I am really anxious to see what type of performance you can get out of MANY assets on the screen. What are your limits there? Can you get 100 homes viewable in your iso view? What about combining that with animated assets and interactivity?

Very impressive! I’m very interested to buy license for your 3D engine. And I would also like to contribute to your project. I hope there will be free license for non-commercial products, because I intend to build 3D collaborative world free of charge. There are also other possibilities like Papervision, Away3D or Sandy, but your engine really impresses me.
